Họ Quạ (danh pháp khoa học: Corvidae) là một họ phân bố khắp thế giới chứa các loài chim biết kêu/hót thuộc bộ Sẻ (Passeriformes) bao gồm quạ, choàng choạc, giẻ cùi, ác là, chim khách, quạ thông, quạ chân đỏ và chim bổ hạt. Một cách tổng thể thì các loài chim trong họ này được gọi chung là chim dạng quạ và có trên 120 loài. Chi Corvus, bao gồm các loài quạ, chiếm trên một phần ba số loài của họ này.
Chúng là các loài chim có kích thước từ trung bình tới lớn với các chân và đuôi khỏe, mỏ cứng và thay lông mỗi năm một lần
Họ Quạ là những loài chim dạng sẻ lớn tới rất lớn với cơ thể cường tráng, các chân khỏe và gần như tất cả mọi loài,Họ Quạ có mỏ to khỏe và sải cánh lớn. Các loài to lớn nhất chính là các thành viên to lớn nhất của bộ Sẻ.
Thức ăn tự nhiên của nhiều loài chim dạng quạ là thức ăn tạp, bao gồm động vật không xương sống, chim non, thú nhỏ, quả, hạt và xác thối. Tuy nhiên, một vài loài, đặc biệt là quạ, đã thích nghi tốt với các điều kiện gần con người và dựa trên các loại thứac ăn có nguồn gốc từ phía con người. Trong nghiên cứu về quạ Mỹ, quạ thường và giẻ cùi Steller gần những nơi cắm trại và các khu con người định cư, thì các loài quạ này dường như có kiểu thức ăn đa dạng nhất, chúng ăn các loại thức ăn như bánh mì, mì ống, khoai tây chiên, thức ăn cho chó, bánh sandwich cũng như thức ăn cho gia súc
Một số loài chim dạng quạ là những kẻ ăn thịt các loài chim khác. Trong những tháng mùa đông, quạ nói chung hay tụ tập thành bầy lục lọi tìm kiếm thức ăn.Một vài loài chim dạng quạ ăn xác thối, và do mỏ chúng không chuyên biệt hóa cho việc rỉa thịt nên chúng phải đợi cho đến khi những con mồi này được những loài ăn thịt khác bỏ lại.
Dựa trên tỷ lệ trọng lượng não bộ/cơ thể thì não bộ ở họ Quạ thuộc nhóm lớn nhất trong số các loài chim, tương đương với tỷ lệ ở khỉ dạng người (Hominidae) và cá voi, và chỉ thấp hơn một chút so với của người.[20] Trí thông minh của chúng được nâng lên nhờ thời gian sống với chim bố mẹ lâu. Ở cạnh chim cha mẹ, các con chim non có nhiều cơ hội học các kỹ năng cần thiết.Khi so sánh với chó và mèo trong thực nghiệm về khả năng tìm kiếm ra thức ăn theo các manh mối trong không gian ba chiều, chim họ quạ tỏ ra thực hiện nhanh hơn so với các loài thú này họ Quạ là những loài chim sáng tạo nhất Trong khi não chim là khác biệt về cấu trúc so với não thú thì cả chim họ quạ lẫn khỉ dạng người đều tiến hóa để có khả năng thực hiện các đo đạc hình học không gian. Một vài loài họ Quạ thể hiện khả năng tưởng tượng, thứ mà dường như chỉ có ở người. Ví dụ, chúng ghi nhớ bối cảnh xã hội tương ứng trước đó, sử dụng kinh nghiệm chúng có trong việc bị trộm cắp để “dự đoán” hành vi của kẻ cắp và xác định cách thức cư xử an toàn nhất để bảo vệ lương thực-thực phẩm của chúng khỏi bị trộm cắp. Chim họ Quạ cũng di chuyển thức ăn của chính chúng giữa các nơi cất giấu để tránh bị ăn trộm, nhưng chỉ khi nếu chúng trước đó đã từng bị trộm cắp. Khả năng cất giấu thức ăn đòi hỏi trí nhớ về không gian rất chính xác. Chim họ Quạ đã từng được ghi nhận là còn nhớ nơi cất giấu thức ăn của chúng tới sau 9 tháng
Một chiến thuật kinh điển trong nông nghiệp để xua đuổi chim chóc phá hoại là dùng người nộm. Tuy nhiên, do trí thông minh của chim họ Quạ là khá cao nên các người nộm trên thực tế không có tác dụng xua đuổi chúng và chúng tận dụng các người nộm này như là chỗ để đậu.

Họ quạ bề ngoài khá đa dạng: nhiều loài rất đẹp (giẻ cùi) nhiều loài không đẹp lắm (quạ, khách). Tuy nhiên đặc tính "bên trong" thì khá giống nhau:- Ăn tạp nhưng nếu được lựa chọn thì thích ăn thịt hơn.
- Giọng hót đơn sắc nên có khả năng bắt trước (tương tự nhưng kém hơn vẹt, nhồng, sáo) và không có khả năng líu (như khuyên, chào mào, mi)
- Khá dữ + khỏe (thịt chim nhỏ, chuột, thằn lằn...)

Nhiều người khuyên là không nên nuôi chim họ quạ vì chúng sẽ làm các loài chim hót nhà mình tịt ngòi vì sợ.

Mình có 2 cái Avi kế nhau. 1 cái nuôi 2 con Giẻ cùi, 1 cái nuôi thập cẩm (Khứơu, chích chòe lửa, cu gáy, sẻ... và cả 1 con trong họ Quạ là chim Khách). Thấy mấy con chim này cũng hót bình thường.
